Cautions for candles
  • Oxidizes with age — old oil is more likely to sensitize; store cool and dark (Lemon)
  • Caution around pets (especially cats and birds) — don't diffuse in their space (Lemon)
  • Fades quickly — weak in cold-process soap or at hot throw (Lemon, Strawberry)
  • Commonly advised against in pregnancy (Lemongrass)

Ideas that use it

Layered color candles
Pour two or three colored layers, each with its own scent, for a candle that changes as it burns down.
Test small, write everything down
Most scent problems show up only after cure. A test journal saves pounds of wasted wax and oil.
